Forster Dental Centre – Top 4 Reasons to Use Your Dental Insurance Now

by Dental Insurance

The year’s end is full of excitement and activity.

Family, work, and school obligations can keep you busy, without noticing other important things – such as whether you have taken advantage of all the dental plan benefits offered by your insurance.

Are insurance concerns at the bottom of your holiday list? They might be, but you could be wasting your hard-earned money by not reviewing your insurance usage before the end-of-year madness begins.

At Forster Dental Centre, we are here to help explain why you should take advantage of any insurance benefits you may not have received, and make use of them now, before 2019 ends.

The following are the reasons to use your dental insurance before the year changes.

1. Yearly Maximum

The yearly maximum is the highest amount of money that a dental insurance plan will pay for your dental work within one full year. This amount varies by the insurance company, but the average is $800 per year, per person.

The yearly maximum usually renews every year (every January 1st if your plan is based on a calendar year). If you have unused dental benefits, they will not roll over to the next year.

2. Premiums

If you are paying premium dental insurance every month, you should be using your benefits. Even if you don’t need any treatment, you should always have your regular dental scale and clean to help prevent and detect any early signs of cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, or other dental issues.

3. Fee Increases

Another reason to use your benefits before the year ends is the possibility of fee increases. Some dentists increase their rates at the start of the year due to the increased cost of living, materials and equipment.

Such fee increases can also increase your dental-care costs.

4. Dental Problems Can Worsen

By delaying dental treatments, you are risking more extensive and expensive treatment in the future. What may be simple tooth decay today, could turn into a root canal problem later. Call your Forster dentist and schedule an appointment to use those benefits.

Dental Insurance: Use It or Lose It!

The yearly maximum usually renews each year on a calendar year basis, such as on January 1st. The benefits do not carry over to the next year and must be used before the year ends.

Therefore, if you happen to have unused benefits left from the previous year, they will be forfeited and lost by the first month of the current year.

Our team will work with you and your insurance company to make sure that your benefits do not go to waste.

If you are long overdue for a clean and check-up, have a pending dental procedure, or need treatment, and you haven’t maximised your insurance benefits for 2019, schedule an appointment with your dental team here at Forster Dental Centre before the year ends.

We aim to help you achieve and enjoy a beautiful smile before the year ends. We can make you look good and feel good about yourself by maintaining the health of your teeth and gums.

Make the most out of your dental insurance and enjoy the amazing benefits of having your teeth checked and treated!
